News and such!
Randomness, ho!

Well, well, well.
Haven't posted in some time, as the trend might seem to be. I don't have much reason to post maybe?
So,
well,
The Gathering 2008 was a blast! I and two buddies drove down to Hamar (from Ålesund), a 440 km trip (or 273 miles) the evening of Tuesday, March 18th. From Ålesund to Bjorli ski resort there were sporadic snowfall with the worst being from Åndalsnes to Bjorli, down the Romsdal valley. My lord, if we hadn't driven carefully we'd be snowy ditch decorations. From around Dombås, though, there wasn't much snow at all. In fact, the inlands were more or less snow free
So anyway, we got to Hamar and waited and waited for the damn doors to open so we could get in an leech
completely 100% legal non-commercial thingies
and have fun. And fun we did have. Some things were weird and/or not fun though. Some of the shows at the stage were not our cup of tea at all. The unfunniest thing was probably the professional wrestling match, mostly because we despise it. And the sickest thing would be the fakir show. I mean, come on! Huge nails up a nose, lying on a very sparely populated nail mat thingy with (starting with 8, ending with 4) 12" nails, eating a light bulb and washing it down with some cleaning spray and some balancing on a rather sharp manchete. Ugh.
Well, other than that, TG was pretty damn awesome with it's 5000 participants and things happening pretty much everywhere. Demos and intros and game and music compos and stuff. :O
And then it was over
and we had to get back to Ålesund. Well, the ride sucked. Because the radiator found out it didn't wanna go and there was a huge block of ice in the air conditioning inlet. So it was cold and we had to stop lots of places to refill water. Blah!
And a little 'duh' moment to finish this news post:

Yeah! A pair of Phonic P8A studio monitors to be exact. What a
sound!
They set me back somewhere around 4000 NOK (for an estimate in your own currency, check it yourself). Then, a few days ago I ordered a new AM2+ motherboard and an XFX GeForce 8800GTS 512 card. Now I need some faster RAM and a faster CPU and I'll be all set for
TG

Yeah, the title kinda gives it away.
It's been a long time since I posted something, so why not do something about it?
I'm in the process of totally reorganizing my room. Also, since the last time I posted I've bought a 24 inch HP monitor. It's way flatter and tons lighter than the Sony/SUN mastodon I've been using for the last 8 months. So I figure I should post pictures of my room.
But that'll wait for another time I can actually arse myself to posting something here.

New WLAN adapter for my laptop

Got a new WLAN adapter and a high gain antenna off QXL, the biggest online auction in Norway.
I got it today at work (because I wanted it delivered there instead of monging myself to the post office (I work at the local post terminal)).
Though rather unconventional, it's not the strangest parcel I've seen
Well, I got home and got it unpacked, the adapter was kind of small, smaller than I'd imagined at least. But darn if it wasn't the little WLAN adapter that could! It may not look much from the picture, but it's supposed to pump out 500mW of pure 802.11g.
The antenna that accompanies the adapter is only rated at 2dB, so I thought I'd get a little more juice out of it and got a 9dB omniantenna as well. Now it looks like business!
40 additional centimetres of business to be precise.
Theoretically, now it should be able to send signals up to 3 kilometres (or 1.8 or so miles). Way, way better than the laptop's integrated Intel 2200 card
And finally, it all cost me NOK 1337
That must mean something

My face hurts like hell. Maybe because I landed on it when a guy jumped on my back yesterday. Seemed like he was in more pain than I was because he was screaming and everything. But it seemed my face absorbed the most of the fall.
Picture of me today
... Swollen nose and eyebrow and some dried blood.

Yes! nightmaster.net is totally revamped! Using phpBB2 and phpBB Fetch All, I've constructed a home page that doesn't look like total crap!
Hooray me!
Work still remains to be done, but it's enough effort from me right now

This isn't where stuff happens. It's merely my private playground and rapidshare thingy. You can find stuff I've made here too.
